When we got up this morning, although it was overcast it was not raining and my weather program said the thunderstorm was not due until around 1:00 so off on our journey we went. From Tardajos we traveled through the village of Rabe de las Calzada onto Hornillos del Camino. The landscape was pretty flat for the first 4K Then it started a gradual upward slope…Then the decent, oh my! The decent is aptly known as the “Mule-Killer Slope” or in Spanish..Cuesta Matamulas, and we can certainly agree this statement.
The Church I am pictured in was a lovely wee Chapel run by Nuns, they blessed each person and gave them a wee medallion, such a lovely thing.
Ronnie is walking up the side of the hostel we are staying in, in Hornillos. (Not too bad only 10 people per room and we both managed to get bottom bunks.)
